Chandlai
lake is a picturesque water body located around 35 km from Jaipur in
Shivdaspura village. This lake is now an abode for hundereds of feathered
visitors that have migrated here in the chilly winter months after flying
thousands of kilometres across the globe.
The star
attraction here are the Flamingos that come here to feed on the specific type
of algae that grows in these waters-Spirullina , which is a blue green
algae (BGA) belonging to the division Cyanophyta.
This algae is the main component of the diet of these birds and it is also a
rich source of protein.
